Yesterday, Class 5
were visited by a theatre group, where they explored feelings about friendships
and bullying. They ‘met’ a girl who had joined a new school recently and people
had been making fun of her accent. The class had to work out what was wrong and
offer solutions to how she could make the situation better. The children were
involved in role-playing scenes from the girl’s life at school and used various
dramatic techniques such as freeze framing and hot-seating to enable them to
fully immerse themselves in the situation. They thoroughly enjoyed their day and
we look forward to the theatre group returning to work with Class Four.
