Partnerships
At Chad Vale we are very proud of our partnerships with
other schools and outside agencies. Here are details of just some of our very
successful partnerships:
Squire Sanders Solicitors
Squire Sanders Solicitors are regular
visitors to our school and support our children through a programme of
one-to-one additional support for both reading and numeracy. The children enjoy
working with Hammonds and our assessments show marked progress for the children
who work with them.
Inspire Workshops
As part of our commitment
to Family Literacy, every class has the opportunity to take part in an ‘Inspire
Workshop’ each year for a whole morning.
The children invite a
parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, guardian or even a friendly neighbour to work
alongside them while they carry out some exciting learning. Previous Inspire
Workshops have included Puppet Making, 'Yum' Healthy Eating, PE Workshops and
Mathletics. The workshops help to consolidate links between home
and school, and highlight the important role of parents as educators in the very
valued partnerships we have at Chad Vale.
The benefits are wide
ranging, giving children the opportunity to work alongside family members on a
shared objective, allowing parents to see first-hand the high quality of work
that their child is producing and above all is a fun and intellectually
stimulating morning for all.
Music Service
The local authority Music
Service provide our after school instrumental lessons in flute, clarinet, tabla
and violin. These lessons are currently funded by the school at no cost to
parents.
Evolve Sport
Evolve Sport support the delivery of in-curriculum P.E
lessons and also run some of our sports after-school clubs.
Ladywood Consortium
We are a member of the
Ladywood Consortium, a working group of 16 schools in our locality, who together
develop strategies for school improvement, support Local and National
Initiatives in Education and provide Professional Development opportunities for
all staff.
Birmingham City
University/University College Birmingham
We are pleased to be
partnership schools to these universities, who use Chad Vale Primary Schools to
develop their trainee teachers experience. Supported by School-based and
Faculty-based Tutors, trainee teachers have the opportunity to teach classes at
Chad Vale as part of their teaching practices.
Local Schools
We work regularly with and
support the work of Lordswood Girls School, Lordswood Boys School, Harborne
Academy, St Paul's School for Girls.
Teaching Schools
We belong to the KEHS
Teaching School alliance and have our own Specialist Leader of Education (Vickie
Crombie) who supports initial teacher training and other alliance schools.
