On Wednesday 4th June 2008, representatives from Chad Vale's School Council
were invited to a VIP tour of the Houses of Parliament and also delivered a
petition direct to the Prime Minister's door at No. 10 Downing Street! The
petition asked Gordon Brown to consider giving elected Pupil Governors voting
rights on School Governing Bodies across the country. We look forward to his
reply! We also had a special classroom session inside Portcullis House (the
newest part of parliament) where we met up with our local MP Gisela Stuart. It
was great to see her at work as she often pops into school to say hello. We look
forward to seeing her soon!
We also had the privilege of meeting up with Lord King of West Bromwich (a
relative of one of our group!) in Central Lobby and had chat with him about his
job. He even offered to take us all for a cup of tea, but unfortunately we had
to decline his kind offer as we had a train to catch!
Please note that there are no photos, unfortunately, inside the House of
Lords and Commons as photography was not allowed.
