Our new School Garden (Sept 07)

On Friday 28th September, 2007 a transformation took place in an area of the Chad Vale playground that has been previously overlooked. A team of solicitors from local law firm Bevan Brittain arrived and worked extremely hard from 8am until 6pm to turn the area of land outside the school kitchens into a fully functioning kitchen garden!

They provided the 'people-power', the tools, the materials and the shed, greenhouse, water butt and compost bin AND worked tirelessly to prepare the land for planting. We hope that in a few months time, the garden will be growing full of organic herbs and vegetables ready for use in our healthy school dinners!

The official School Gardeners this year are Class 2, and they are already planning what they want to grow in the garden over the next year...watch this space!
