Pierre Dulaine is an international ballroom dancer who developed his love of dancing as a teenager living in Birmingham (most of his family still live here).  He has developed a highly successful programme of social dancing, in the USA, through ballroom.

"Dancing Classrooms" develops children and young people's self-esteem, personal and interpersonal skills as well as develops physical skills. It also offers lots of potential for building on the experience to enrich other areas of the curriculum.

Pierre has flown in from New York to offer his time towards getting the project started as a gift to Birmingham and has chosen Chad Vale Primary School as one of the 2 primary schools involved in this exciting project. Our Year 5 class have teamed up with the Year 5 class at St. George’s School in Ladywood and are thoroughly enjoying learning the steps, after overcoming their initial trepidation of dancing with other children!
