Class Information 2010-11

Every class at Chad Vale have their own large classroom, enabling a mixture of different teaching methods to be used by the teachers. Most classes have at least one experienced full-time Teaching Assistant, who work alongside the designated Class Teacher.

Each teacher bases their lessons on the government's QCA Schemes of work, the Literacy and Numeracy Strategies, the Birmingham Agreed Syllabus for R.E and the school has a wide range of resources to enable teachers to deliver the curriculum in the most exciting ways. The teachers adapt and create plans to meet the needs of the individual pupils in their class.

The use of the latest technology is integral to the everyday teaching and learning that takes place at Chad Vale. We have a suite of 16 modern computers networked together, and connected to an interactive whiteboard (see photo gallery). The children have their own user names that are issued in Reception, and they keep these until Year 6, building up a portfolio of work in their Chad Vale careers. We also have excellent video-conferencing facilities in the I.C.T suite, which have been used to link us via video-links to other local schools.

Interactive whiteboards are also fitted in all classrooms, where they are used daily to enhance and support the learning in every subject. The children respond with great motivation and they have helped to raise standards throughout the school. Please ask for a demonstration when you come to visit!
