The P.P.T.A are EVERYONE connected with the school in a supportive role – pupils, parents, grandparents, carers, staff etc.

We support the school in any way we can but particularly by organising social events for the children, which we believe are important for the school. The events add a different dimension to the school’s life. They reflect both the calendar and the cultural side, and give the children something outside the normal curriculum to look forward to and get excited about. We love the “buzz” in the school, for example, when they are all changing into their Halloween costumes or peeping into the hall when we are setting up a fair!

The other element of these events is the fund-raising side. We aim to raise money for items of direct benefit to the children which the school could not otherwise afford. In the past three years we have bought for the school:

. A large Adventure Playground area for the field.

· A microphone and sound system

· Blackout blinds for the hall

· The Friendship stop signs for the playground

· Another laminator for the Inspire workshops

· Seven planters and compost for the spring bulbs

We are now hoping to raise at least £12,000 over the next three years to buy an additional item of large playground equipment for the field.

We have recently appointed 3 pupils from Year 6 to represent the children on the PPTA, as our events are organised for the pupils. They wrote letters of application and were 'formally' interviewed by 3 members of the PTA Committee. The standard of applications were extremely high and we would like to thank all those children who applied and were interviewed!

Meetings

Meetings are held on an regular basis, normally one weekday during school time. Smaller “working parties” meet up to plan or prepare for a particular event. These meetings involve both teachers and parents, and new faces are always most welcome as we always need helpers at every event!
